The train, with modern and comfortable carriages, climbs slopes up to 70% gradient (without cog traction) reaching an altitude of 2253 m above sea level, the only one of its kind in Europe.
Poschiavo, with its beautiful aristocratic villas, is the departure station of our tour and main town of the valley from which it gets its name.
After leaving Poschiavo, the traveller reaches Alp Gr�m, an exceptional lookout point.
The harsh rugged mountains, where the kingdom of ice and perennial snow rules, seem to sternly remind man of his limitations.
Over the pass at 2253m above sea level by Montebello, the observer is offered the impressive view on the Morteratsch glacier and on the Bernina massif, with its sparkling four thousand metres of eternal snow.
